Position: Outreach Program Director

The Outreach Program Director is a full-time, salaried position. The position oversees Christian Education programming (children and youth) throughout the week, and especially on Sunday mornings. The Outreach Program Director will also oversee initiatives/programs that connect First Congregational Church with the surrounding community Mansfield Community. This position works closely with the appropriate boards (Youth and Children’s Committee and the Missions Committee) for their assistance and implementation of FCC’s goal of becoming an overall growth-focused church. This position will also allow opportunities for preaching and pastoral care in collaboration with the Senior Minister. The start date for the Outreach Program Director is August 1, 2026.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collaborate with the Senior Minister in developing and implementing program initiatives (nursery, children & youth, and church marketing) that support the church’s overall vision of a Growing and Thriving Church through ongoing curriculum, outreach, training, recruiting, budget, and other pertinent ministry goals and objectives. *A copy of the strategic planning priorities will be given to the candidate in addition to the job description.
2. Meet with the Senior Minister weekly, attend staff meetings, and have a visible presence at the church throughout the work week and on Sunday mornings.
3. Become “the face” of the outreach initiatives and program ministries. Although the position will require recruiting and developing volunteers for the program ministries, this position will also require the director to be actively involved, teaching Sunday School classes, attending retreats and mission trips, and engaging children, youth, and families as a pastoral presence.
